Therapy for Trumbull, CT Residents
Bring the worry, perfectionism or decision that keeps interrupting your day to a conversation in Shelton or online.
When Checking Never Feels Finished
You may finish an assignment and still feel pulled to check it again, or leave a meeting wondering if you said the wrong thing. I work with Trumbull residents who want to look at anxiety and second guessing in practical terms. Students, young professionals, new parents and adults considering a career change can meet with me in Shelton or online while in Connecticut.
Adults Making Their Own Choice
My practice is for adults ages 18 and up seeking therapy for themselves, with a focus on people roughly 20 to 45. You might be managing graduate school, learning a new job or adjusting to parenting. We can begin with an ordinary example from your week rather than requiring a perfectly organized account of your concerns.
Examining a Repeated Prediction
I draw on CBT to understand how a thought affects what you do next. If a small mistake becomes a prediction of failure, we can check what supports that conclusion and what does not. We might practice an answer you can use before checking again, then talk about what happened when you tried it.
Room for Discomfort and Values
ACT can help us consider an action connected to your priorities while uncertainty remains. That could mean asking a question at work or finishing an assignment without another revision. We discuss what matters to you and what makes the action difficult, without promising you will feel calm or certain before you try.
Your Appointment in Shelton
In-person sessions take place at 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484. I do not have a Trumbull office. Consider the time you can set aside for an office visit alongside your responsibilities that day. Parking details are shared before your first visit, and the first appointment is longer than a regular session.
I want us to look at the checking, not ask you to become perfect at stopping it.
Bridget Moore, LCSWMeeting Online in Connecticut
Online therapy is an alternative when you are physically in Connecticut at session time. You need a private space, a stable connection and a phone or computer. We can discuss mixing formats as circumstances change. Tell me about your actual location if you will join from somewhere other than your usual place.
From Intake to a Working Goal
Our intake lasts 60 minutes and covers mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history. We set goals together using that context. Later appointments can include reviewing a skill, discussing low motivation or practicing a boundary. I want to know what feels useful and what needs adjustment as the work continues.
Fees and Weekday Availability
The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Individual therapy is $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. I keep weekday daytime hours, without evenings or weekends. I accept some insurance plans and offer private pay. We can discuss your plan during a free 15-minute consultation. I provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement; check your plan because reimbursement is not guaranteed. Consider both the fee and appointment time.
A Short Call Before Deciding
Call (203) 308-5030 or email bridget@bmoorecounseling.com for a free 15-minute consultation. Tell me the concern that led you to look for therapy and ask about practical details. A request through the contact form works just as well. I confirm appointment arrangements with you rather than treating a message as a booking.
