Therapy for Monroe, CT Residents
Make room for academic pressure, comparison and the personal decisions that do not fit neatly between deadlines.
The Pressure Beyond the Assignment
A demanding semester can include more than coursework: comparison, relationship questions and worries about what comes after graduation. I offer therapy for Monroe residents who want to look at that whole picture. My work includes adults roughly 20 to 45, from college and medical students to professionals, new parents and people changing careers. You can choose an office appointment in Shelton or meet online while in Connecticut.
One Deadline Becomes a Verdict
If an assignment feels like proof of your worth, finishing it may be harder than the actual task. I use CBT to examine the thought behind repeated revisions or avoidance. We can consider what a workable response would look like, then return to the real attempt instead of judging you by an ideal version of the week.
Comparison and the Missing Facts
Looking at classmates or coworkers, you might assume their confidence means they never struggle. I help you distinguish what you actually observed from what you filled in. We may discuss an uncertain conversation or an error that keeps replaying. The aim is to examine your conclusion, not insist that every concern is unfounded.
Needs Outside School or Work
I draw on practical communication skills when a roommate disagreement or a family expectation keeps taking up attention. We can practice asking for something specific or setting a limit. I also use ACT to discuss how those choices connect to your values, including what you want your relationships to reflect during a busy stretch.
An Appointment at the Shelton Office
My in-person location is 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484. Therapy for Monroe residents does not mean I have an office in Monroe. Consider the time an office appointment would require in your own schedule. Parking details are shared before your first visit, and the intake is 60 minutes.
An assignment can matter without having to answer every question about who you are.
Bridget Moore, LCSWOnline While You Are in Connecticut
An online appointment can be an alternative to an office visit if you are physically in Connecticut at session time. Find privacy and a stable connection on a phone or computer. Tell me where you will be, including any change during a school break. Your mailing address alone does not establish where we can meet.
Putting Your History Into Context
At intake, I ask about mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history. We decide on goals together, such as spending less time second guessing or practicing a difficult conversation. Those goals can change as your circumstances change. I do not set a promised timeline for results or expect you to arrive with a finished plan.
Scheduling and the Session Fee
The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Individual appointments are $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. I meet during weekday daytime hours only, without evenings or weekends. Some clients use insurance plans I accept, and others pay privately. Your free 15-minute consultation is a time to ask about your plan. Superbills can be requested for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but your plan determines coverage and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Questions Before Beginning
I work with adults 18 and up who are choosing therapy for themselves. Call or email to request a free 15-minute consultation, or send a few lines through the contact form. You can ask about format, availability and the concerns you want to discuss. A message requests a conversation, and I confirm the arrangements with you.
