Rates and Payment

Knowing the fees and timing before we talk can help you decide what fits your budget and your week.

The Cost of Our Time Together

I want you to have the session fees before deciding to begin. I accept some insurance plans and also see clients who pay privately, with the same individual session rate for in-person and online appointments. You can ask about your plan in the free 15-minute consultation. A free consultation gives us a short conversation about your concerns and practical questions before you schedule an intake.

Our First Appointment

Intake Session

60 Minutes60 minutes

The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. The intake is 60 minutes. I ask about your mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history so we can understand what is bringing you to therapy. We also set goals together for the concerns you want to work on.

Ongoing Appointments

Individual Therapy

$17545 minutes

Individual sessions last 45 minutes and take place weekly or every other week, in person in Shelton or online. We use that time to discuss current concerns, examine patterns and practice skills you can try between appointments.

Free Consultation

15 Minutes

The 15-minute consultation is free. You can ask about my approach, daytime availability and meeting online or in Shelton. I can hear what you are looking for without asking you to tell your whole history in that short call.

Insurance, Private Pay and Superbills

I provide superbills on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill gives your plan information about the sessions; it does not guarantee that the plan will pay you back. Check your own benefits before making reimbursement part of your budget.

Three Questions for Your Plan

Ask your plan these questions directly. Their answers can help you understand what you would pay yourself and what paperwork they need.

  • Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What deductible applies, and how much of it have I met?
  • What reimbursement might apply, and how do I submit a superbill?

If You Need to Cancel

Please give 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. A missed session without notice is charged $100. A scheduling text is a way to let me know that plans have changed; you do not need to wait until our next appointment to bring it up.

Time in Your Week

Appointments are during weekday daytime hours, not evenings or weekends. Consider both the fee and the time you can regularly make available. Weekly and every-other-week sessions mean different commitments, and we can discuss what makes sense for your goals.

Is It Worth It?

That is a reasonable question when you are paying for care. I cannot promise results or tell you that therapy will be worth a specific amount to you. We can name what you hope to work on, review what feels useful and talk honestly if the work is not helping.

Ask Before You Commit

If the cost raises questions, bring them to the consultation. I would rather discuss a budget concern before the intake than have it sitting unspoken during our work. You can decide whether the fee and schedule are workable for you.

I want the fee to be clear before we begin the conversation.
