Therapy for Milford, CT Residents
Examine the career question, anxious prediction or change of plans you have been thinking through on your own.
Before Deciding What Comes Next
Wanting a different job or a different direction does not automatically tell you what to do. I work with Milford adults who want to examine those questions alongside stress, low motivation or second guessing. College and graduate students, young professionals, new parents and career changers can bring their own priorities. My practice focuses on adults roughly 20 to 45, with appointments in Shelton or online in Connecticut.
When the Current Path Feels Wrong
Sometimes a change is already happening; other times you are deciding if you want one. I want to hear what feels difficult now and what you imagine would be different. We can separate a preference from pressure to please other people, then look at what information you need before choosing an action.
Values Before a Big Decision
ACT gives us a way to discuss the priorities behind a choice. A schedule, financial needs, relationships and the kind of work you want may pull in different directions. We can consider those tensions without pretending there is one correct answer. The decision belongs to you, including how much uncertainty you are willing to accept.
Checking the Catastrophic Version
I draw on CBT when an option immediately becomes the worst possible outcome in your mind. We might examine the facts, name what is unknown and compare a prediction with other possibilities. A small step to gather information can become something to review next session rather than a test you must pass perfectly.
Where an Office Appointment Happens
I meet clients in person at 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484. There is no Milford office listed for my practice. We can discuss whether setting aside time for an office conversation is workable. Parking details are shared before the first visit; I do not assume a travel plan for you.
A career question deserves more attention than a rushed answer at the end of the day.
Bridget Moore, LCSWChoosing an Online Appointment
Online sessions are available while you are physically in Connecticut. A private room, a stable connection and a phone or computer are needed for the conversation. Tell me if your location changes, including for work or a temporary stay. We can talk about using office and online formats at different times rather than deciding once forever.
Starting With Context
During the 60-minute intake, we discuss mental health, medical, social, family, school and work history. That context helps us set goals together. Later sessions can include preparing for a conversation, examining a familiar pattern or reviewing an action you tried. I ask what was useful instead of promising that a career decision will become easy.
The Fee and the Time Commitment
The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Ongoing therapy is $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. I offer weekday daytime appointments, not evenings or weekends. I offer both private pay and appointments using some insurance plans. Bring your plan questions to the free 15-minute consultation; you can request superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check your plan directly because reimbursement is not guaranteed.
A Conversation About Fit
Adults ages 18 and up seeking therapy for themselves can request a free 15-minute consultation. Phone, email and the contact form all reach me. Tell me briefly why you are considering therapy, your location and the daytime openings you could consider. I confirm arrangements with you before an appointment is booked.
