Therapy for Stratford, CT Residents

Talk about changing roles, difficult feelings and the responsibilities that leave little time to think about yourself.

A New Role Can Change Your Whole Week

Starting a job or becoming a parent can change your routines faster than you can work out how you feel about it. I see Stratford residents who want room to discuss that adjustment. My clients include students, professionals, career changers and new parents, especially adults roughly 20 to 45. The conversation can happen in person in Shelton or online while you are in Connecticut.

The Concern Under the To-Do List

You may be getting things done while feeling tense about every choice. I help adults examine anxiety, depression, life transitions and parental overwhelm using specific situations. A conversation about yesterday afternoon can tell us more than a broad description of being stressed. You do not have to choose a single concern before reaching out.

Skills for an Overwhelming Moment

I use DBT skills when feelings make it hard to pause before reacting. We can practice identifying the emotion, slowing a response or preparing a request for help. I keep the exercise connected to what happened, such as a disagreement about responsibilities, rather than asking you to apply a skill without a real situation in mind.

What Matters Alongside the New Role

I draw on ACT to discuss values when your time and energy are stretched. We might examine what you want to keep from an earlier routine and what needs to change. A realistic action could be a specific conversation or a small plan for the week, not a demand to balance every responsibility equally.

The Office Option

My office appointments are at 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484, not in Stratford. Some clients prefer a conversation away from home. Parking details are shared before your first visit. We can discuss the office format without assuming anything about your travel time, transportation or availability during a weekday.

Your changing role can be part of the conversation without becoming the whole story about you.

Privacy for Online Therapy

To meet online for this Connecticut option, you must physically be in Connecticut during the session. Choose somewhere you can speak without other people listening, using a phone or computer with a stable connection. A gap in a parenting or work schedule may work if it leaves enough uninterrupted time for the conversation.

Your History and Shared Goals

The first appointment is a 60-minute intake. I ask about mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history to understand the concerns in context. We decide on goals together and revisit them later. I do not promise an outcome or assume that the same exercise is useful for every client.

Payment and Timing

The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Individual appointments cost $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. Sessions are weekday daytime only, with no evening or weekend availability. I accept some insurance plans, with private pay available too. Ask about your plan on the free 15-minute consultation call; superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Your plan decides benefits, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Checking Fit Before the Intake

I work with adults 18 and up choosing therapy for themselves. A free 15-minute consultation gives us time to discuss fit, format and availability. Call, email or fill out the contact form to set that up. Between-session texts are for scheduling and quick wins, not emergencies; call or text 988, or call 911 for crisis support.
