Therapy for Seymour, CT Residents
Talk about the stress and depleted motivation that make ordinary tasks feel harder than they used to.
Look at Where Your Energy Goes
When small changes feel like too much, you may start avoiding tasks and pulling away from friends. I work with Seymour residents who want to examine that sequence and what is happening around it. Students, young professionals, new parents and adults changing careers can bring concerns about anxiety, depression or adjustment. The appointment can be in person in Shelton or online while you are physically in Connecticut.
More Than a Full Calendar
A busy schedule may be part of the picture, but I also want to hear about the thoughts following you between tasks. You might replay an error or feel guilty taking a break. We can discuss one example and how it affected motivation later that day. My focus includes adults roughly 20 to 45 seeking therapy for themselves.
Checking the Self-Critical Thought
I use CBT to examine conclusions about your worth or ability when energy is low. We might identify a repeated prediction, look at the evidence and practice a different response. That does not mean dismissing real demands. It means separating the task in front of you from a judgment about your whole life.
A Plan for the Energy You Have
I draw on practical skills and ACT to choose an action that reflects your priorities and current capacity. We may discuss a small routine, a request for help or a limit at work. We review what you tried without promising that motivation will return on a deadline or asking you to complete an unrealistic list.
Choosing the Office Format
In-person therapy takes place at 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484, not a Seymour office. A conversation away from home may appeal to you. We can discuss the time you can make available for that format. Parking details are shared before your first visit, and I leave travel planning to your own circumstances.
I want a plan to account for your energy, not add another standard you cannot meet.
Bridget Moore, LCSWJoining Online in Connecticut
For an online appointment under this Connecticut option, you must physically be in Connecticut during the session. You need privacy, a stable connection and a phone or computer. Check who might overhear if you plan to join from work. Tell me about location changes before the appointment instead of relying only on your home address.
The Intake as a Starting Point
Our first appointment lasts 60 minutes for mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history. We set goals together, including what you want to do differently outside sessions. Later meetings may include a recent example or a skill you practiced. I want your feedback when something does not fit so we can reconsider it.
Payment and Appointment Rhythm
The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Individual sessions are $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. My hours are weekday daytime, with no evenings or weekends. I accept some insurance plans, and clients can also choose private pay. A free 15-minute consultation lets us discuss questions about your plan; superbills may be requested for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Your plan decides coverage, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
Finding Out if We Are a Fit
Adults ages 18 and up choosing therapy for themselves can request a free 15-minute consultation by phone or email. You’re welcome to use the contact form too. Bring your location and scheduling questions along with what has felt harder lately. If symptoms are severe, a medical provider should be part of care; my practice does not offer crisis services.
