Therapy for Derby, CT Residents
Talk about low motivation, pulling away and the changes that have unsettled your usual routines.
When Familiar Routines Take More Effort
An unanswered message or an unfinished task may be one small part of a week that feels difficult to get through. I work with Derby residents who want help examining that pattern. Anxiety, depression, life transitions and parental overwhelm bring adults to my practice. Students, young professionals, new parents and career changers can meet with me at the Shelton office or online while physically in Connecticut.
A Concrete Place to Begin
You do not need a neat explanation for losing motivation. We can start with a specific morning, a missed invitation or an assignment you keep avoiding. I ask what happened before and after it to understand the pattern. My practice is for adults 18 and up choosing therapy for themselves, particularly people roughly 20 to 45.
A Smaller Action to Try
I may help you choose a small planned action rather than wait until motivation returns. That could be one reply to a friend or a return to a routine that used to matter. We discuss what might get in the way and review the attempt later. The action should reflect your actual energy, not an unrealistic list.
Understanding a Familiar Pattern
I draw on psychodynamic therapy to examine how earlier experiences may connect to what feels hard now. A habit of keeping your needs quiet or expecting rejection can become part of the discussion. I keep those connections tied to your current relationships and goals, rather than assuming every difficult day has the same explanation.
A Face-to-Face Appointment
In-person care happens at 1000 Bridgeport Ave, Suite 307, Shelton, CT 06484. I do not list a Derby office. If you prefer talking away from home, we can discuss that option and your daytime availability. Parking details are shared before the first visit. Your own schedule determines what an office appointment would require.
A difficult week gives us something specific to discuss, not a reason to criticize you.
Bridget Moore, LCSWAn Online Conversation in Connecticut
You can meet online while physically in Connecticut during the session. Set aside a private space and use a phone or computer with a stable connection. If your usual location changes, tell me before meeting. We can consider mixing online and office sessions when practical, without assuming one format will always be easier for you.
Goals That Reflect Your Priorities
The intake takes 60 minutes and covers mental health, medical, social, family, educational and work history. We choose goals together, then return to them as sessions continue. You might want to reconnect with a routine or spend less time criticizing yourself. Therapy does not come with a guaranteed result or a fixed deadline for change.
Fees and Available Hours
The intake fee is confirmed during your free consultation. Individual therapy is $175 for 45 minutes, weekly or every other week. I offer weekday daytime sessions and no evenings or weekends. I accept some insurance plans as well as private pay. We can talk about your plan in a free 15-minute consultation before you decide about care. Superbills are available for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but your plan determines benefits and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
When You Need Help Now
My practice is not crisis care. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 now or call 911. Between-session texts are for quick wins and scheduling, not emergencies. For a regular consultation request, call, email or use the contact form, and I confirm arrangements with you.
